Hmmm, why just traders? What do I do with any of my chips during the convention? Uh, well, I just leave them lying around the room actually. Traders, new acquisitions from the bourse floor or my color ups from the tables downstairs, just scattered on the table, next to the bed or in a pile on a chair. Kinda stupid I guess but so far so good. Mostly keep my stuff in an insulated lunch cooler with a prominent "IGLOO" label on it. Just looks like it must contain a sandwich and a soda. Soft sided and has a sholder strap and if I'm traveling by car, shoot, just put a baggie with some ice cubes inside to keep the whole affair from going gunnybag in the heat.
Do I worry about theft? Everyone knows most Honduran room maids are only after Crust and Seals with those DuPont burgees on 'em. Just leave a couple of dollars everyday with a note, "For Housekeeping" and mostly you should be okay. Did keep my Reno R-10's in my shoulder bag and at hand most of my convention last year. I've never had a room safe that seemed to work correctly when I stay in Las Vegas anyway. Always figured if I locked something in the poxy thing I'd never be able to retrieve it again. There are about 112 ways you might be victimised as visitor to the convention, just be vigilant but DefCon-4 might be extreme. Look out for "The Blue Stuff" is what I've heard.
