The 1 mill chip was never 'officially' on set, they were given to the key people about halfway through shooting in vegas. I believe the 1 mill was made at a later date, but it was still during production. I could be wrong on this, but the rumor was they had a scene that they wanted in the high roller room and they needed the 1 mill chips, but the scene was axed after they made the chips, so they gave them to bret and the crew. There was nothing official about it other than the set dec/art department handed them out. They were only seen for a few minutes before being removed. They brought them out, showed the crew and removed them, then handed them out at a later date. I can't remember if that was before or after FBI confiscated all the fake cash from set. I think after. So yes, it was a later date than the original order, but still by the production company.
