Just because an organization is a 501 c3 (not for profit) does not mean it can't sell things for a profit, hold fundraisers, collect dues, write for grants, hire staff ect. All money taken in should benefit the organization and not any individual. Paid staff is fine. Think about most not for profits, how do they do it?

The club should get as much pro bono as it can but at this point it needs a paid Director.
