Re: PB/Green Duck...
With this numbers will be hard to know what's rare and what's not.
I made a little research after the chips show on ebay and i've seen less than 100 $1 on auction, and few more of $500. Other values are higher, with only the $2.50 backup in shortage. But this numbers, if your story is true are really pointless. Maybe someone got away with a full trunk of $500 or $2.50 backup and he's waiting for some reason holding them aside. At this point numbers are probably higher than 15.000, more close to 30.000, but it could be even 50.000 or 100.000, who knows? If someone in the next future use a metal detector he may discover another hoard.
Only after months the price of this chips will settle down. The very first to put them on ebay made a nice income, as many buyers were unaware of the hoard. Maybe in the next days someone will pay more than $10 each, looking over his price guide and being very proud of the deal, only to discover in the future the mistake he made. The collectors will buy only one each, maybe a couple to get some trader, but very few will buy stacks of chips. You have the items in your hand, you make the price. If nobody will buy them you lost only few bucks on ebay fees, but you can relist them with a lower price. This will let you know the "real" value of your "treasure". Just don't be greedy, as you told you paid nothing for this, so everything will be a gain for you. Who said you're "bad people"? if you got the chips without doing any crime you're great, think on how many collectors will be grateful to you, they have a chance to complete (almost) a nice set with less than what they will had to pay for a $5 one week ago.
Have a nice day.
Mauro.
P.S.
Can you put here some new picture of the digsite or the chips? ty
