Larry Bird's Boston Connection was a Hotel/Restaurant in Terre Haute, Indiana just a few blocks from Indiana State University where he played during his college days. Larry had a lot of fans there. When the Celtics were playing the night club there would carry the games and it was always packed, as soon as the game was over the crowd would leave. I was there once and watched a band set-up and play immediately after the game and there was probaly less than 30 people left. Once Larry retired from the NBA, I guess he sold his interest in the operation. The restaurant and nightclub closed and the hotel became a Day's Inn. The chips may have been used as a part of casino night fund raiser at the club but thats only a guess.
