David; I doubt that any PB chip is redeemable now

When NJ casinos go out of business, an inventory is made to determine the number of outstanding chips not cashed in and those numbers are made known to Gaming by the individual casino Comptrollers office. In the case of Playboy ... now that the lid has been blown off ... I seriously doubt that NJ authorities will be redeeming any PB chips simply because the sheer numbers of chips currently available exceeds the total number of chips that were originally outstanding. The fact is, the overwhelming majority of chips that have currently appeared on ebay have already been cashed in! You can bet that NJ gaming is not going to redeem them twice!

It is my hope that NJ Gaming launches an investigation to find out why these chips were not destroyed and how they came to be in the possession of this company in Mississippi that allegedy buried the chips rather than using a permanent destruction process and how they came to be in the possession of so many individuals who are now offering them for sale on eBay.

The more inquiries that Gaming gets to this particular situation may prevent similar occurances from happening in the future. I would think that a NJ Gaming license or two might be in jeapordy at this point in time. I would urge more collectors to contact the NJ Division of Gaming and/or the NJ Casino Control Commission. Collectively, as a group, we have influence. As individuals, we get blown off. Turn up the heat!!
