I stand corrected about John McCain's age.
I'm not sure where, but I've heard more than once that he was 82.
71 is NOT too old.
Thanks for educating me!
But I still think he will loose in a close election due to the "middle" in this Country wanting a change.
Sure the "Left" will vote democrat, and the "Right" will vote republican, but the majority of the independants have expressed a desire for a new direction, and it is that "Middle" that will determain the outcome of this next election.
And as for the poster "claiming the Iraq war is winnable", are you serious!?!
That war is nowhere close to being winnable and it is costing us way too much, in lives and dollars!
Maybe contained, but not winnable.
You need an understanding of the Middle East, and especially Iraq, to know that there has always been conflict in that region, and many believe it took a hard-ass like Saddam Hussien to keep that Country from being in a constant state of civil war, which he did with his "Iron-Fist" rule.
And to even suggest that by pulling out of Iraq is an inviation for them to follow us over here is kind of silly.
So long as we are occupying Iraq, a Muslim nation, we will continue creating anger and resentment towards us, no matter how noble our intentions are.
And the argument that if we don't fight them over there we'll be fighting them here is the same lame argumant made during the Viet Nam war.
But I respect everone's opinions!
