and have NEVER had a problem with a seller in over 9 years of dealing on eBay.
This topic has been debated in here several times.
As a seller and buyer,I have over 1400 transactions on eBay under 3 different ids. Never have I had even the remotest of problems payment wise. People send cheques, and I put them in the bank. People send money orders...I put them in the bank. Never have I had a money order or cheque bounce. I mean...unless a person is dead broke, what is an extra week of wait anyway when you are dealing in small sums of money? This whole "cheque must clear before I mail" nonsense drives me batty. Yes...there are scammers in the world BUT....if a person has near perfect feedback and a good payment record, and IF the person is a fellow club member, then I think that you should cut them some slack. It might be a bit different if you are selling an item worth thousands, but if it is under a couple of hundred and the person seems right, then I am sending it out...BOOM!...right away.
Yes....I trust people and will not lose sleep over 1 or 2 irresponsible people which might show up every 500 or so times. I refuse to punish myself and lose money that I could have received from buyers in other countries.
One thing that US sellers who will not sell internationally may forget about is: When THEY want to buy something and the seller happens to be in another country,I doubt if they care where they buy from and I am sure that they would be annoyed if the seller happened to say "I do not ship to the USA." It is a double standard and it gets tired after awhile.
And besides.....who in their right mind would turn down US cash as payment???
You give me US cash or Euros and pay shipping I will ship to friggin' Siberia.
