Back to Wes's question........I'm sure "a drawer full of matches" would send my home insurance agent into convulsions, but I remember my grandmother keeping wooden matches right above the kitchen stove and we all survived!
I have noticed that as far as reselling matches on Ebay, it seems that buyers prefer full books if possible...but the choice is yours. And I agree with Rick that sometimes the beauty of the matchbook is the inside art, so you'd want to protect them by removing the matches.
But I sleep better at night knowing mine are ALL in airtight containers.....plus, I'm fresh out of marshmallows!
