Yes there is a flop of J/J/10, BUT you have the bottom pair with an A kicker. You have to make a bet there just to see where you are. If you get two callers then you know something is up and you have to play very cautiously after that. Although you have the pair and a flush draw.
Actually,I think that the first mistake was limping in with all of those callers. If you raise preflop you find out right away where you stand and then can exercise caution when Ernie calls as most of the limpers would have folded. So now it is A-Q against A-10.When the flop hits(even with the Jacks) you bet again and Ernie probably folds since he missed the flop entirely.If he does not fold then Dennis should get concerned.
Sorry but I think that this "bad beat" would have been avoided with a good size raise right at the beginning and a continuation bet on the flop. If he bets when he should have,then most likely this beat never happens.
I know that we have some "experts" on this game who watch this board,so...how about some comments on the way this hand went down? Is it classified as a bad beat when you let your opponent get cards to beat you with?
