I agree that the club's main goal should be to ...

... promote the hobby, but it still comes down to the bottom line once the club agrees to go along with the plan... there just isn't all that much membership interest; interest in helping to staff a hospitality table (or exhibit a portion of one's collection) at major coin shows... or setting up a table at some of the larger antique shows.
Several of us know for a fact that the club has done what is expected of them by providing the tools; ordering woods/chips/pens, and other CCGTCC handouts along with supplying table staff with cases of our fine magazine for those who visited our table...

The interest just isn't (wasn't) there... and we're now no longer a part of the World's largest coin show, either; FUN.

We are now in our 20th year....
