Re: Another new standard of bad beat attained

Charles,I do very well in cash games. But it is a whole other way of thinking in cash games.
In tourney play I find that many players at the levels I play at(non pro)do not respect bets, and, because of that, they will call with speculative hands without any regard as to A:What the opponent may have according to the way they have bet,and B:they do not consider the consequences of their "calls" sometimes. An example of that, would be feeling that they have to call a bet with crappy cards, even though they know that they are probably WAY behind, just because they see that move on TV. They don't realize that if they call certain bets(all in ones especially),that,IF they lose, that they can double up a player and let that player back into a game by giving them more chips to play with. Not only do they put themselves at severe risk with questionable calling hands, but they now have changed the whole outcome of the table and game by making such stupid calls.Now...when I say questionable calling hands,I am talking the bottom 20 or so hands, not the top 20. In the long run, those calls will break a player.
When you watch pros and good players play in a game you will notice(Poker After Dark is a good example),that players think before they act and I find that many players...especially on the net...don't think. Mind you, they don't have a whole whack of time to do so and maybe that is why there are so many bad beats. Who knows.
