I once found a MPC (Military Payment Certificate) that had a guy's name and hometown on it. It was on a $1.00 note. I was curious 1 day, so I thought I'd see if he was still alive. I actually found him, and told him I had the note. He was surprised, but then he told me a story of a barracks crap game..... I offered to send it back to him. He was surprised, as he'd told me he'd lost all of his WWII souveniers in a fire, but he gave me his address. So, I was glad I found him. For me, it satisified a curiousity, and for him, he was able to have at least 1 memento of his war service.
