Scott pointed out that he doesnt make it to many of the conventions so he didnt feel it ws in his best interest to join.
I mearly pointed out that coming to the convention is NOT the only benefit. In fact you dont even have to be a member to come to the convention.
You do have to be a member however to receive the quarterly magazine which I believe an overwhelming majority would agree is well worth the membership price alone. Yes it is well circulated, but ONLY to club members. Can you please point out where else you have seen this magazine for sale?
You also must be a member to take advantage of our substantial and comprehensive library. Rather than spend hundreds of dollars a year on guidebooks we allow all members to check out as much literature as they like and even ship it to them for free. Would you not agree that is a huge benefit to club membership?
What about special programs like the Mentor Program?
Can you also disagree that there are numerous contests held on this board each year that are open to members only?
Every person has the right to choose what they feel is best for them. I think I would be doing a dis-service to my club and my hobby by not pointing those benefits out. If you choose not to try and recruit new people, thats your right. Many of my friends and fellow club members dont feel it is out of line to point out what non members miss out on. I believe that only thru recruitment of new members will this club survive the test of time.
As far as being out of line asking if someone is a member or not, I dont see that at all. I asked a simple question and got a simple answer.
I respect your opinion, but cant for the life of me see what I possible did wrong.
As I said in my last post, that is my personal opinion.
