With on-line auctions, it is now easier and cheaper to buy or sell a chip to someone you don't know than ever before. There are no auction facilities that come even close to meeting the eBay fees for either buyer or seller. I can only assume that most of the complaints against eBay that we see on this bb are from those who wish to trade chips for no cost at all. That's fine when you can do so, and the trade sessions at the Convention are certainly one of the best ways to do so. But when you progress beyond "3 of mine for 3 of yours", you have to start looking a chip values and buying and selling in an auction format is much superior.
When eBay gives us a chance to save some commissions as they are doing this week, I suggest jumping in with both feet rather than complaining about the fact that it's still not free [g].
