Seriously....any ideas why none of these chips were made this year? Are LE's on their way out...sorta like silver strikes,or?
I see a near total lack of imagination recently in the artwork of many LE's. Lots of pin up style women but(with few exceptions this year) no great graphics as in the past.
Semi clothed women on a Christmas chip?Nothing for 3 other major holidays? What gives?
I know that many do not like LE's...that is fine...but I know that there are people who do,and I wonder about these people,because I think that many new collectors get into the hobby because of these things. Sure,after awhile many new collectors branch out into the older stuff,but if the casinos start putting out either boring chips or worse...nothing at all,will we still get those new collectors any more? If I did not happen to run into some cool LE's last year while in Vegas,I know that I would have never even begun to collect chips.
Obviously most casinos do not care that much,especially if the new chips are not selling,BUT...with a bit of imagination and perhaps lower mintage, these chips would sell and stay out of the vault for months or years.To me, any advertising is good advertising.
Even silver strikes: I looked everywhere for them and found them in 3 casinos, so I played at those casinos. The ones that did not have machines received no money from me as I went looking for what I needed elsewhere.
Don't know what the answer is. But I am sure that someone out there does. So? Let's hear it....
