Town Democrats say ‘no’ to casinos.
Don't worry, it's gotta be the truth, after all, it's written by the Chairman of the Bolton Democratic Town Committee. Right (oops, sorry) from the Donkey's mouth. Guess Bolton Democrats already got condeming the War In Iraq, Gitmo and disrespecting all the U.S. Armed Forces outta the way.
Highlights:
Casinos are anti-family values. Guess that's some hyperbole on my part, sorry. 
If the parents are spending the state's money in casinos, how are the schools expected to raise the state's children?
Regulating the casino industry will entail setting up a huge state bureaucracy, loaded with patronage. Yeah, hard to believe a Dem is saying this as if it were a bad thing! 
Rich guys like Donald Trump are gonna get all the money. Boo rich guys.
Inflation is making the taxes you pay now, worthless. Dummy. You simply need to pay MORE taxes! Sheesh! Instead of filtering the State's money out of your pocket through the economy, it would alleviate the government's burden if you'd just pay it directly through "progressive" income tax, gas tax, and other taxes.
On top of this, for every dollar paid to a casino employee, several dollars forfeited by losers will disappear from the local economy.
If the gas tax goes directly to the state’s bridge and road costs, it becomes a construction job multiplier.
How the fellow managed to leave out Kyoto and polar bears is mysterious. Perhaps a Christian plot?
The point I'd like to make is that rather than scapegoating anti-casino sentiment, perhaps you ought to consider that one of our favorite pastimes finds disfavor across the board to a certain extent. Just ask Jethro how easy it is to set up a casino in Nevada even! 
Thought it a worthwhile read, a little stimulus in thinking, a viewpoint change you can believe in.
