We had dinner at this Italian restaurant in mid-town a couple months ago and really enjoyed it.
Inexpensive for NYC - for any city for that matter, plus at the hour we got there on a Friday night, it was pretty empty which made for a quiet evening.
It is on 31st Street, not far from Times Square.(by my standards)
