I think the reason dealers don't want a Wed. trade session, is because if you trade for the chips you need,then you don't need to buy them from the dealers.
If you don't have dealers, then you don't have a convention. Do you want a 4 day convention of just trade sessions? Who's going to pay for it? The dealer table fees go a long way towards paying for the convention.
The dealers have families to feed too. They come to the convention with the expection (hope) of making a profit. If they don't, what is their incentive to come back next year?
I think it's vitally important for the convention chairs to listen to what the dealers have to say.
Again, I repeat "IF YOU DON'T HAVE DEALERS, THE YOU DON'T HAVE A CONVENTION"
