Let's try it from the buyer's side
In Response To: But Shawn ... ()

A seller buyers a chip at a garage sale for $2. The chip happens to be a 1st edition Flamingo (Bugsy).

Now, now knowing anything about chips, he calls it a coin and sells it under a coin category in ebay.

3 deep pocket bidders spot it. Each would gladly pay $25k for the chip. The 3 get together and decide whose turn it is to bid. Unfortunately because the chip was placed in the wrong category very few people saw the auction. The sale price turns out to be only $100.

The seller is ecstatic. Using your logic, since the seller is happy to make $98 profit, he did not get screwed. In fact he should be happy. Then again I seem to recall that you don't approve of that practice. Could it be that you are pro-seller?

I like to see who I am bidding against though
Re: I like to see who I am bidding against though
You can still get quite a bit of buyer history tho
it WILL still make shilling rampant.
It's already happening in Australia!!!
Not if you bid on CCGTCC members' auctions, only.
That's a good point John ...
What a way to go thru life.
You can never get "screwed" by a shill bidder ...
Can't disagree more ...
Ahhhh....
so next time you find a chip your willing to pay
eBay auctions don't work like that. grin
that right its an AUCTION not a SALE:
OK, let me see if I got this right....
