Up until now, I didn't realize he had the leftovers back into play at this place. I was there a few years ago, and it was slots only. But that was when the Coral Reef was open, and the chips were being used there. Again, this was prior to the Princess being opened. At that time, it was only a cinder block shell and wasn;t completed for an additional 3 years. To be honest, IMHO, I think these are some of the most valuable "current" chips around. The facts that:
The vast majority of the chips burned up with the original Reef Casino and only the few chips that were in the guy's basement remained. He brought them out and put them into use at the "Coral Reef" Casino, and barely had enough even at that time to come close to being able to function, even though he only had a couple of tables. There were no more then 15 of each denomination at each of the three tables.
He watches them like a mother hawk and has no problem demanding you pull any chips out of your pocket. Those that have met the guy instantly realize he isn't one you want to mess with. Not that I know for sure that he is "mafioso", but I sure wouldn't bet against it. I was caught slipping a couple of $1.00 chips into my shirt pocket, and he came over at my shirt pocket and said rudely "you need to take those out of your pocket right now. I said I wanted to keep it for a souvineer, and he said he didn;t have enough of them, and I would not be able to keep any. Fortunetley, I was staying at the Jolly Beach Resort, which was right next door, and then made it a life's goal to get as many as possible over the next five days.
2) Even though they are still in play, they are extrememly hard to get. Applying the "supply and demand" concept...I'd have to say the $1.00's I'd put at $10.00 , I value the $5s at $15.00, and I would sell for the $25.00 for at $40.00.
Before I heard that they were available again, I had them available on my website at: $1.00 @ $15 and the $5 @ 18. I haven't heard if he has any pf the $1.00 chips left.
