I agree with you that "SW" or Starge, or whoever he is should be allowed to express his legitimate frustrations with the membership process. I disagree however that we must treat people who hide behind aliases the same as those who don't. No, there is no rule. There is, however, a common practice that people use their full name and a working e-mail address. Frankly, it's a bit strange "conversing" with some strangely named anonymous poster. The fact is that most posters on this board use their full names. Many of the ones that don't have been posting for a long time, have developed their nickname over time and the regular posters know who they are. There is no reason that people can't use their real names, is there? I can understand an initial reluctance, but it should quickly become obvious that most others are NOT using cutesy names. In addition, if they want help or responses, they are only hurting themselves, as many will not post in response to pseudonyms. We have been hit with trolls on this board, and some regular posters have become wary over time of those who hide behind false names. Some of the worst ones may have been before your time on this board, but I have seen some real winners since I have been watching this board.
