The email I received appeared to be sent from one of my ebay buyers using their ebay name and using the ebay messaging service. It said:
I have sent you 2 emails that you have not responded to so I am using ebays message service. Please click on the link below to answer my question:
It then showed a link that had the description and auction number of one of my ebay completed auctions. They just happened to pick the ebay name of a buyer that
I was having shipping cost issues with so I feel for it and clicked on the link. It then took me to an ebay page where I had to sign in. I then foolishly entered my ebay name and password and click login. This is where their trickery fell apart. Up popped a Yahoo page link that said the yahoo page was no longer valid! I then realized that I had been had and quickly went in and changed my ebay password before they could get into it.
Once again the scammers are getting better at tricking you into believing that you are entering ebay and need to sign in. They are making their emails appear to be one of the buyers of your auctions but they can easily be one of the sellers that you have bought from on ebay. Final warning is still the same, don't ever log in ebay using a link! Always type the address in yourself!
Signed by,
Thought I was smarter then they were!
