Greenland is an integral part of the Kingdom of Denmark and became autonomous state in 1979. It is the world’s largest island located between the North Atlantic Ocean and the Polar Sea almost completely in the Artic Circle.
The note selected is a 1953 (my birth year) issue 5 Kroner. The front has a polar bear on an ice float at the center with the denomination at right and left. The back has a map of Greenland at the center. Book value on this note in UNCirculated condition is $150.00. (These are pretty hard to find in UNC shape) ENJOY!! Psst, scroll down below and I stuck in a Svalbard (Norwegian) note.
