Some Nevada Silver for sale
In Response To: Selling Some Silver ()

These $5 casino tokens were also struck by Franklin mint, all in 1967. They are uncirculated, proof-like and all contain about 1.3 to 1.4 T.O. of Sterling Silver. They are about 1 3/4" in diameter, the same size as most Nevada $5 tokens issued to date. There were around 30 different casinos that participated in issuing 5's that year.

IMO, the big 5's made by FM were some of the most beautiful tokens ever issued, both in terms of artistic merit and quality of the production. Each token has a unique pattern of reeding on the edge, a feature that FM patented if I'm not mistaken.

The token from Harolds Club in Reno is the one originally issued in the PL sets; its reverse is marked Las Vegas. A token with the correct marking of Reno was issued later and offered as a replacement to set holders.

What cost $5 in 1967 would cost $31.63 in 2007 adjusted for inflation.

Yours for $23 each, delivered. Again about the value of the silver content. I'll honor this price for the next three days as the crazy silver market could do anyting next week [g].
