I haven't tried it myself, but it would seem that solid black scan areas would compress to the same degree as solid white areas. I believe the JPG algorithm uses run-length encoding so as long as you get a long string of pixels that are all the same brightness and color, it should compress irrespective of color. Have you seen a different result, Terry?
