Looks very good. See the notes I made to Shoop to his posts about some settings. 300dpi is great. I don't feel higher is needed as the quality is fine when zooming to look at detail. One has to make a choice where to stop. Once you scan a few thousand chips, the file size comes into play.

Ive been using mine now for about a year. I bought and tested quite a few different ones then returned all except the epson 4490 photo.

The final choice peopl eneed to make is do they want to use the scanner software alone, or do they want to bring it into another editing program like Adombe photshop elements so they can use a cookie cutter circle and remove all of the backround.

Some like a black backround, but that increases file size.
