I think you'll see a continued slow decline in the hobby as fewer and fewer younger people are attracted to the club and the old guys continue to die off. I don’t think is has much to do with the economy at the moment. There are so many casinos now in so many states that bringing home that chip from your big trip to Las Vegas isn't so special anymore. The new casinos don't have the mystique of the older joints. It’s still a relatively inexpensive hobby to get into, but so is coin collecting, and the number of those collectors is no where near what it once was. I think this hobby is headed down the same path. Who knows, maybe when enough of the old guys are gone there will be a resurgence of new blood into the hobby. I hope so.
