I first made my way to the casinos north of Topeka stopping at Prairie Band Casino, Golden Eagle Casino and the Sac & Fox Casino. I found nothing new at any of these casinos. I did manage to leave the area with $500 extra though. Since it wasn't too late, I drove on to St. Joseph, MO and stopped at Terrible's. There wasn't anything new there either, but I managed to leave $100 of the $500.
I drove on down to Kansas City, MO that night. The next morning I got up and went to visit the new 7th St. Casino in Kansas City, KS. I spent a couple hours there eating breakfast with Jim Kruse, looking around the casino and then sitting around in his office talking about chips. The casino is very interesting. They have converted an old Masonic Temple into this slots only gaming establishment and it looks very nice. I managed to leave another $100 there.
I left there a little after noon and went to the Ameristar in KC, MO and met up with Brian Watts. We ate lunch at the Ameristar and then entered their Monday afternoon NL Hold'em tournament. Neither of us cashed, but we had a good time. Somehow I ended up with this chip which I didn't have before.
Brian and I played in a 3/6 game until about 7pm when we went out to the food court area to have our meeting. It was a light turnout with myself, Brian, Robert, Ron, Wilson and Ed being the only ones in attendance. I think only about 4 chips changed hands, but we had a great time talking and the meeting broke up about 9:15pm. I made it home about 1:15am.
It was a great trip due in no small part to the hospitality shown me by the rest of the members. Thanks guys!
