the situation better (in the later posts) but Chuck could only go to the Pai-Gow or Bacarrat tables, as the chip in question is an $8 chip. Since both Pai-Gow and bacarrat are played with commissions and they only calculate commissions based on $5 intervals and odd amounts are rounded up. Playing the game with an $8 bet to show you wants some action and not just the chips really hurts your odds of walking away with any chips, let alone being a winner.
I will venture to say that at the end of the Chinese New Year celebration (a week) these $8 chips will be pulled from the tables. They just don't fit in and the house really does want them to leave. Unfortunately, not every employee agrees, gets the memo or likes collectors.
