Once a buyer makes payment, his part of the transaction is OVER. Period. The seller should then leave positive feedback. I don't want to hear that the customer is a pain in the a$$ or any other excuse. The buyer fulfilled his obligation. End of story.

Every now and then, something will happen that a seller cannot control, or because of a legitimate misunderstanding. I got neutral feedback once because of it. I thought it was ridiculous, sold a lot of old archery tackle, there was about $50 worth of stuff, he won it for $5, there were 12 items in the photo, one of which was a used bow string....I was concerned about passing it on for safety reasons. I didn't list it in the auction. I forgot it was in the auction photo. He emailed me after he got the items and asked about it. I explained it to him, reminded him that even though it was in the picture, it was specifically NOT in the auction text. I offered to send it to him, if he really wanted it. No response. Neutral feedback. I didn't think I deserved it, and I emailed him and told him so to his face (virtually, lol).

Bottom line........so what. A negative or neutral here and there means little. Savvy eBayers can tell the difference between stuff happens and a real problem.

Now compare that to the dozen or so times I got a crappy, below-average "mint" chip (never from a club member, by the way) that a seller would not take back, or some other used, but in fine working condition item that shows up as absolutely unusable broken junk. Those sellers need to be exposed, and the buyer should not have to fear retaliation.

As a rule, I put up positive feedback for my buyers the first chance I get after I receive payment. As a buyer, i want to be free to speak my mind when I don't get what I paid for.
