Steve, the only reason.....
that would make ANY sense to me is if they didn't have enough of a particular chip to facilitate GAMBLING. Not having enough $2 chips (We know this not to be the case because we KNOW there were thousands of them delivered to the Gold Coast......whether they can find them is another story) isn't a big deal because you can drop TWO $1 chips instead of a single $2 chip and it doesn't affect the price of tea in China or beer at the Splashbar one iota.
Any time a casino hesitates to sell ANY chip with a face value over the cost of that particular I just have to shake my head and wonder.
