Journey to Kangwon Land Casino
In Response To: Fake 1 Million Chips! ()

In April of 2006 my wife & I ventured to this casino. It is about a four hour drive from Seoul, the capitol of South Korea. It's the only casino that allows it's citizens to legally gamble. At all other casinos a foreign passport is needed for entry.
There was a 5,000 won admission but because we produced foreign passports it was waived. Prior to entry we went through a TSA-like screening. We walked through a metal detector and our hand-carry was searched. No cell phones & cameras are allowed; I had to check them in and get a claim check.
The casino was crowded. I looked for a seat at one of the close to fifty blackjack tables but every seat was taken. I tried to buy chips at the cage but was told I had to buy them at the table sad. I found a Tai Sai table where players were standing around so I squeezed in. I couldn't make heads or tails of this game but I bought chips anyway. I wasn't forced to play so I walked away after getting the chips grin.
If anyone has Korean casino chips (genuine of course!) to trade send me an email.
These are the chips from that trip along with my players card (the vitals are blurred to protect the innocent vbg):

I have chips from other South Korea casinos to trade.
