Let me state that I didn't see the fire myself, except from a distance. Friday the girlfriend and myself were on a mini-city/Red Rock tour when the fire broke out, and we could see the plume of smoke from where we were (Ethel M factory at the time). It did remind me of the MGM fire back in the 80's, but at least the fire department was able to get it under control quickly enough. From the footage it did look a lot worse than it really was, but still something like that happening along the Strip is a disaster to begin with. (Won't even mention how tangled up the traffic was... only to say that it was STILL a mess at 6pm when we got back to the hotel.)

Ah well... gotta love the excitement of Las Vegas. *Gryn*
