Re: Germany jetons & chips
In Response To: Germany jetons & chips ()

Hi Jim,

these are the actually used chips and jetons of the casinos.

I have never been to Frankfurt and Mainz but I was told that they are small casinos.
Wiesbaden is one of the most beautiful casinos in Germany. You will like it. It is in
a wonderful old building. Very nice and old gambling hall. When I was there in 2007
I could buy the NCV jetons from the picture at the cage. I don't know if they still have them available.
You may ask the cashier for some "Glucksjetons". Thats what we say for "no cash value".
I bought them for 2 Euro each. They look very nice.

You will not find any fractionals at a german casino. The lowest value is 2 Euro (about $3).
And in Frankfurt the cheapest chip is 5 Euro ($7.50). There are only some casinos in Germany were
you can play for 1 Euro. Berlin had one table some time ago. And I was told that some casinos in Bavaria
should have a 1-Euro-Table.

As David said before, you need to be nicely dressed to enter the casino. And you need a picture ID.
If you come to the casinos before 3PM, there will be no table game. Only slots are open from noon.
The best time to go to a casino in Germany is 7PM and later.

Enjoy your trip to Germany. If you have any more questions please contact me.
