Today's Wall Street Journal said cause had not been determined but that there were welding operations going on on the roof. Also indicated most damage was external; the facade apparently is flamable and creates a lot of smoke when it burns. There was a water tank on a high floor, as on most newer Las Vegas hotels, which aided greatly in extinguishing the flames.
