Today’s note comes from the Historic Mayan Civilization of Central American Country of Guatemala. This is the latest issue (2006) and released in 2007 1 Quetzal. The note is printed by the Canadian Banknote Company on a new polymer material. With a white background it is hard to see the clear window under the stylized bird in the upper left, in the window is a raised image of Guatemala’s coat of arms. The portrait to the right is General Jose M. Orellana. The over-all styling of the note depicts the Mayan culture and icons. The back has National Bank of Guatemala building at center. Placa De Leyden artwork at left, the back also contains interesting UV markings. The note in UNCirculated condition carries an aprox. Book value of $1.00. ENJOY
