April 28-May 2 or so may be dead times for the strip hotels. Check hotels like 1) Harrah's; 2) I.P.; 3) Bills; 4) Excalibur; 4) Tropicanna and see what the cost is. Anyone of them might have discounts for poor bank people. I have stayed downtown only once and then when I was young and could run from trouble ( *g ) and never again (though the Golden Nugget is first rate--but costly).

I stayed at Wynn's the year after it opened--thoroughly enjoyed it though it wasn't cheap. The people were very nice from the servers to the dealers (before Wynn screwed 'em over); etc.
