I remember a story about casino cage inventory count downs. The cage has to be inventoried all the time and these or other chips were painted black on the edges so that when placed in a full rack of chips only the end chips in each row would have to be $100 black chips. From the top of the rack it would look like a full rack of $100 chips. A 50c chip with black edges could be switched for a $100 chip from the center of the rack, good return on your investment. I am not sure if this was the club or not but I think it was done some where.
