A clique does not require secret handshakes, it is simply a group within a group (high school is classic for cliques- jocks, nerds, druggies) that shuns non group members (folks who don't share the same views as the members of the clique). The splashbar folks would be a clique if we exclusive in attitude instead of inclusive (fortunately we more like a political party, we welcome everybody). However we do sometimes refer to ourselvesas a click (missplelling intended) as a joke on ourselves-since we began primarily as a the antithesis of a clique.

When folks refer to the 'clique', I believe they are responding to the folks here who do tend to jump on comments which differ from their views, and some folks do so with an aggressiveness that is counter productive. I don't think it qualifies as a 'clique' because a person could be an attacker on one day, and attacked on another, and they lack either the cohesiveness, or the influence some assign to them. While I don't like the attack mentality that occasionally exists, it is hardly a clique.
