As to the benefit of new blood being a formal panel, I have to disagree as to the net benefit. Folks who have never been involved offering views without the experience strikes me as non productive. If a person has never been to the convention, how can they offer views on the convention, if they don't know the history, or at least some of it, how can they offer insight that is not a repeat of what has been discussed or dealt with before?
If the new bloods want to discuss issues, and offer suggestions to the board, I encourage it, but I don't think a panel as described is the best idea. Even if we do create a panel, whether it is made up of new blood, old dogs, or mid lifers like me, any suggestions would raise some form of conflict. Trust me, I have raised many subjects for discussion, and had to banter with friends and foes alike. If your concerned with rufflingfeathers, then you will not be happy on that sort of panel. But, I do agree with one point you made, there is way to much negative attitudes and argumentative reactions. Discussions should be respectful, reasonable, and rational.
