Re: A question of etiquette
In Response To: A question of etiquette ()

Overall, I have found the etiquette skills to be quite good. In general, I do receive responses to my e-mails. I recognize there may be reasons why some people don't respond or can't respond in a timely fashion - sometimes I am one of those! Work schedules, out-of-town travel, etc.

Here's what I do like about this group, though: First, most e-mails begin by addressing me by my first name - "Hello Jim" and the like. That's very friendly, considering nobody has ever met me in person. Second, for the most part I do hear from others when chips have been received, which helped put me at ease in the earlier days of trading.

I don't always live up to those standards. My e-mails to others often contain no greeting. I do try to acknowledge receipt with either an e-mail or a post to this Board. But if we opened it up to comments, I know a couple traders would lament that I can be slow to confirm that I really have the traders on my website and slow to wrap up deals.

With a combination of etiquette and (when those skills seem absent) patience, this is a pretty good group to buy, sell and trade with.
