The Chip Board Archive 18

I was there for a little over a year working for

Brown and Root at the time doing refinery modifications. Most of the Engineering was done in Caracas where I also lived for about a year.

I spent a LOT of time in the casinos while I was down there but unfortunately my favorite games of Poker and Craps were unknown on the island at that time. Everyone played Roulette or Caribbean Stud.

I have most of the chips from those early days framed but one day I will take some pictures.

The Otrabanda like a few other casinos offered chips in both dollars as well as NAF's. Almost all casinos also had $5 denoomination chips in 6-7 colors that were used on the roulette tables.

The otrabanda was a very small place as I remember with only 2 roulette tables and a few Blackjack tables that seemed to never be open. Have you ever been there? It is known (Or at least when I was there) as the seedy part of town and you had to go over the famous floating bridge when walking there from downtown.
