You're a wise man for staying out of the heated convention thread Craig ... but you may have opened up another potential can of worms when you mentioned having the convention in Primm or Laughlin. I agree with you that the club may be looking at significant increases in cost to continue to hold our future conventions in Las Vegas (or in any other major U.S. city for that matter.)

I don't know of ANY property in either Primm or Laughlin that has the convention facility space to offer that the club requires. Perhaps someone else knows for sure? The lack of an nearby airport serviced by major airlines is another deterent for a Laughlin consideration. In addition, travellers don't want to spend a minimum of an hour or more in Vegas Airport retrieving luggage and getting into a rental car to drive an additional 2+ hours to Laughlin after a long flight. I would guess that many out of town convention-goers don't rent a car while in Vegas now as as an economy measure ... which would create an additional financial hardship upon them to travel the additional distances back and forth with a rental car expense.
