I bought an almost 1 year old MacBook for $800 still under warranty. Runs both Mac OS and Windows. I sent it to Apple to have some things fixed, and got a new battery under warranty. Paid for a warranty extension for 2 more years and it was all cheaper than buying a new one. Deals are out there.
