Honestly, with the exception of the water canal, I couldn't tell much difference between the Venetian and the Palazzo.
I did notice that the Venetian has a scented air system that seems sweet to me (reminds me slightly of coconut oil), as where the Palazzo's air system just smelled sort of earthy (no sweetness to it) and clean.
This was the evening after New Year's. I think most folks must have had to work the next day, as the strip was QUIET! We saw several casinos send employees home due to lack of business. I was able to walk right up to the casino cages and get nice $1 chips everywhere - no lines.

The Palazzo front area shown has a nice, wide stone balcony across it - great place to watch the TI Siren's Pirate show (across the street) away from the usual crowded sidewalk/viewing area.
