Re: Monumental poker losing streak
If you play poker long enough, you will have these bad runs. I've been playing for over 40 years and I've had more than my share. Some will last over a year. Maybe even longer if you don't give up the game for good before it turns around. Statistically, there will always be players that are luckier than others. Luck is a huge part of poker ... always has been, always will be. We don't have any control over the cards we're delt, the flops, turns or rivers. You can be the biggest dog going into the river, but if you have at least one out, you can win. It happens all the time, every day in every card room around the world. Just remember all the times you sucked out on the other guy. Even if those suckouts are distant memories right now. The debate over whether it's luck or skill that creates the best players is a legitimate debate. Either skill or luck can only take you so far ... at some point you will need BOTH to be really successful. And without BOTH you'll most likely end up being just another poker player out there doing the best you can. In my wallet I carry a personal message that I wrote to myself years ago, "Note to self: NO WHINING - NO COMPLAINING - NO EXCEPTIONS". You wouldn't believe the amount of times I have had to pull that note out to have someone else at the table read. And it seems to work. Hope your luck turns around soon!
