Rick, from a fellow Islander, been there done that. I managed to book about $10,000.00 in wins in 2007 (tournament and live play - don't ask about the online play) but I'm still known in my hometown as the guy who can't win while he's ahead. Moral of the story, play through it. The odds do catch up eventually.

I once played a series of 10 tournaments in my home league where I was ousted in the first 5 players with hands that get beaten about 5% of the time. Still managed to finish in the top 5 because I won 4 of the other 10 tournaments we played. Painful, but bearable when you keep getting your money in with the best of it.

Look at it this way, once everyone knows that they can suck out on you, the odds in your favour will keep getting better and better because they will gamble more and you will gamble less. Advertising does pay off once in a while. Made $3100 at the River Rockl in 2 days back in November solely on this principle. ($2 - $5 No limit game).
