Must have done something REAL BAD in a former life as I have been the recipient of some major suck out/bad beats over the past 3 months:
Have had pocket Kings 5 times this week and each one was beaten by pocket aces!??.Also had pocket aces cracked by the same player who had pocket 3's and tripped up both times.
Had 3 flopped full houses in the past month and lost two and split the pot on the last one with runner runner.
Had 5 straight flushes in the past six months(no lie)...lost 4 of them...one to a flopped Royal.
Had three people this past month hit 1 OUTERS on me!
My last 11 tourneys I have been knocked out by hands when I was a minimum of 80% favorite(poker odds courtesy of Card Player.com)
Even in my debut in the club poker tourney last week,I was all in with my AK suited against a player who called me with AJ,and of course he hit his Jack on the river.
I rarely slow play my big cards so I am not letting people in cheap. The players who know me well, and are seasoned vets of poker, have stated that they have never seen a losing streak in which a player(me)was consistently so far ahead on most showdowns yet still lost on ridiculous beats/rivers or runner/runner etc.
Everyone says that I should just keep on truckin' because the odds will catch up some day but I wonder....
NOW...I am not whining about this...just commenting on the streak, because I have a question for all of you poker players out there: Have you have ever had a bad losing streak? Not one where you just lose races occasionally. We are talkin' real live consistent suckouts and bad beats over several weeks or months? If you have...how long did yours last? How did it affect you?
See you at the tourney tomorrow.
Hopefully 2008 will get this huge monkey off of my back.
