Meanwhile, the iPod Touch is solid state storage (flash memory). The one I have is an 8gb model, which is still enough space for 4 movies and around 40 albums or so. Battery life is much longer, 14-20 hours on music, and around 5-6 hours on video, meaning you can run it on a cross-country flight without having the battery die.
Since both use a USB connection to recharge, I recommend one of those small power adapters (about $15) that uses the iPod cable to charge the units with, then slips into a pocket or carry bag with ease.
Another plus for the iPod Touch is that it has Wi-Fi, meaning if you're sitting in Las Vegas International and being bored, you can connect to their free wireless service and read the news... or the Chip Board. *Gryn*
